A fixed restoration for an entire arch is supported by six implants placed in the bone. A separate implant is not needed for every missing tooth.
This option may be considered for an arch with no teeth, or when the remaining teeth cannot be saved. Teeth that can be treated are assessed before extraction is recommended.
The number and position of implants are determined after a consultation and investigations. All-on-6 is not suitable for every patient.
FROM PLANNING TO AFTERCARE
Each stage is planned around your individual case.
01 / CONSULTATION
Assessment and planning
The dentist assesses your teeth, gums, bite and bone support. We discuss your medical history and current treatments. Investigations, including 3D imaging when indicated, help plan the position of the implants.
02 / SURGICAL STAGE
Implants and a temporary restoration
Surgery follows the agreed plan. The temporary restoration is ready within 2–3 days of surgery. Fitting it to the implants at this stage depends on implant stability and the clinical situation, as assessed by the dentist.
03 / AFTER HEALING
The final restoration
Integration of the implants into the bone takes time, usually several months. After healing and reassessment, the bite and tissues are checked and the final restoration is prepared. The schedule is tailored to each patient.
TWO DISTINCT STAGES
Temporary and final restorations
The temporary restoration is used during healing and may need adjustments. Follow your dentist’s instructions on diet and the forces placed on the restoration.
The final restoration is made after reassessment. Materials, shape, colour and maintenance are discussed in relation to the clinical situation and treatment plan.
Care continues after treatment.
A fixed restoration needs daily hygiene and cleaning around the implants using the methods recommended by the team. Regular check-ups and professional cleaning are part of its maintenance.
Implants can have complications, including inflammation in surrounding tissues, failure to integrate or problems with the restoration. Smoking, inadequate hygiene and certain medical conditions may affect the risk.
QUESTIONS ABOUT ALL-ON-6
More clarity before you decide.
Does All-on-6 mean the whole mouth? +
It refers to a single arch supported by six implants. The upper and lower jaws are assessed separately; treating both arches requires a separate plan.
Will I receive fixed teeth on the same day? +
The temporary restoration is ready within 2–3 days of surgery. Immediate loading is possible only in eligible cases. Implant stability, bone support and other factors may require a different sequence. The final restoration is made later, after healing and reassessment.
Is All-on-6 better than All-on-4? +
More implants do not automatically mean a more suitable solution. The choice depends on anatomy, bone, bite and restoration design. Your dentist explains the options after assessment.
How much does treatment cost? +
The cost depends on investigations, implants, additional procedures, the temporary restoration and the material of the final restoration. The plan and costs are clarified before treatment starts.
The first step is a conversation with the team.
When needed, the plan is coordinated by Dr Florin-Ciprian Badea and Dr Raluca Florina Badea, together with the dentists involved.
This is general information. Recommendations and treatment stages are determined after an individual clinical assessment.
